Privacy Policy for Random Word Device

Last updated: April 2026

Random Word Device is a solo-developed app. This policy explains what data we collect (spoiler: almost none) and how we use it. We wrote it in plain language, not legalese.

What We Collect

We do not collect personally identifiable information (PII). No names, emails, accounts, or identifiers that could be used to identify you.

The app uses Expo Insights for anonymous analytics. This may include:

  • App launch events (e.g., when you open the app)
  • App version and device type (e.g., iPhone, Android)
  • Operating system version

This data is used only to understand basic usage patterns and improve the app. It is aggregated and does not identify you as an individual. Expo’s privacy practices: expo.dev/privacy.

Local Data (Stays on Your Device)

Settings are stored on your device only. This data never leaves your phone or tablet. If you delete the app, it’s gone.

Third-Party Services

  • Expo / EAS Insights – Anonymous usage analytics (see above)
  • App Store / Play Store – Standard store services; governed by Apple/Google

Children

The app is intended for all ages but does not specifically target children under 13 and does not collect data from them.

Changes to This Policy

If we change this policy, we’ll update the “Last updated” date above. Continued use of the app after changes means you accept the updated policy.
